During Colonial times until the early 20th century, haciendas were the main production centers around which turn the economic life of the New Spain. In them the landowners and their families enjoyed with all kinds of luxuries and comforts. In this context could not miss the good food that mixing the Spanish culture and regional customs originated the Creole food, which contributed to Mexican Gastronomy delicious international dishes.
In the state of Durango in nothern Mexico hacienda El Mortero is a splendid testimony of our cultural heritage. Its construction is nos considered a jewel of 17th century architecture and is worthly represented by our restaurant, built as a replica of the main house of the original hacienda.
